Terlipressin
РастворTerlipressin is a synthetic analogue of vasopressin (hormone of the posterior lobe of the pituitary gland), it has a pronounced vasoconstrictive and styptic effect.
Indications
The drug Terlipressin is indicated for use in adults with:
- bleeding from the gastrointestinal tract (GIT) and genital organs: in oesophageal varices, gastric and duodenal ulcers;
- uterine bleeding (dysfunctional, in labour and at termination of pregnancy);
- gynaecological operations on the cervix (local administration);
- bleeding during surgery on the abdominal cavity and pelvic organs;
- hepatorenal syndrome type I (rapidly progressive renal failure).
Contraindications
Do not use the preparation Terlipressin:
- if you are allergic to terlipressin or any other components of the drug (listed in section 6);
- if you have septic shock (severe generalised infection) with low cardiac output.
Usage
Terlipressin is intended for intravenous administration as bolus injections or short-term infusion, as well as for para- and/or intracervical administration during gynaecological operations on the cervix.
